First day at new assignment

The client does not seem to be around. That is okay - it can happen sometimes. The client is GM Marketing. They may have meetings. Also here the consulting work is not a pre-agreed project with scope. Seems more like work as Management desires.
A colleague asked me to take access for a dashboard. It is better if the management asks me for the same. Else new ideas which are of no help. 
Its been the entire first half. There has been no work. There has been a conversation around handover. It is complete now. 
It does not feel great. Am I supposed to do something. Not sure. Probably I can leave early.
